Trip to Wheeler’s Sugar Bush

In Richmond it was a grey day, so we thought we’d hop in the car and drive up to Wheeler’s sugar bush. Up the valley, the weather was great. 17 celsius and the sun came out. Here’s a few pics from the excursion.

Herpes: what we’ve all been searching for?

A couple of weeks back at work I was looking for some random images of various sizes.  I need to test a component that uploaded and resized images.   I opened a browser and decided to search for ‘images’.  The google search bar made some suggestions.

I don’t think the details of search bar have even been made public, but I’m guessing it does the following:

  • Looks at popular searches lexicographically similar.
  • Filters the above based on your location.
  • Filters the above based on your demographics and perhaps history.
  • Applies google secret sauce.
Google suggestions for the word "images" showing herpes and bedbugs.

Remind me to not come stay at your house..

Bear in mind: this is with ‘moderate’ safe search. At home (mostly for the lolz) we have safe search turned off completely.

My dad is an ass-phalt man.

While he was working, my dad was really into asphalt. I remember him reading a book about asphalt at bedtime. We sent some pictures of Huck playing in the mud around the yard and he sent back some captions so I thought I’d post them.
